I have found a secret recipe on how to prepare an enticing and palatable Sandwich Feedback.🤓 Yeah!🤗 Firstly, you start with a positive comment (the top slice of bread), then add the constructive feedback (the filling), and finish with another positive comment (the bottom slice of bread). ∆The sandwich method is a great technique for giving feedback in a way that's both constructive and kind.∆ ¶This method makes feedback easier to accept and more effective, helping people improve while feeling valued and supported. It's like serving up a helpful critique with a slice of encouragement!¶🤗

I had an incident where my boss completely dismissed my efforts.🤯 I had asked for key pointers to aid my next attempt, but all I got was; “just figure it out.” You can imagine how I felt for the rest of the week. That boss of mine, apparently fancies the sandwich method of criticism.
¶The sandwich method of feedback is an approach used in offering criticism in such a way that the receiver of such criticism, is ready to take correction without feeling hurt.¶ It makes it easy for anyone to accept their mistakes and work on ways to improve. Most of the time, our criticisms are made up of personal preferences, which do not take other people's biases into account.
The Sandwich Method Of Feedback Offers 3-Steps To Consider When Giving Feedback
Start With The Positive: ¶Appreciate the best features of the person or piece of work.¶ It sets the tone for the corrections. Maybe the person's effort or time.
Identify The Pitfall: Now that you have their attention, they are ready to listen to your opinion with less resistance. ¶Be sure to be clear while offering these suggestions and provide a suggestion that helps with the corrections.¶ Be careful to avoid making reference to personal traits not related to the subject matter.
End With A Positive: Appreciate their efforts and remind them that you trust their ability to deliver on the task.
When you practice these simple steps during a criticism, you make it easy for people to take corrections and work towards a better outcome. Remember that humans are naturally defensive and would stop at nothing to make their point. However, when you sandwich the criticism between appraisals, it makes it easy to take in. The Sandwich method, reduces unnecessary friction between line managers and team members, making for a smooth working relationship.
